Since its foundation, Autel has been working to equip users with state-ART tools and software to meet the latest vehicle diagnostic and maintenance requirements. While the automotive industry is heading towards electric vehicles (EVs), Autel continues to be innovative, ensuring the technology needed for efficient, safe and accurate EV diagnosis.
This obligation is reflected in the release of Ultra and 909 EV tablets, along with the EV-DIAG software and connector kits, which extends the EV diagnostic capabilities of the Ultra Series of tablets.
Recent software updates, along with new diagnostic cables and adapters, now enable all Ultra Series tablets to perform diagnostics, special functions, and coding on Tesla Model S, X, 3, and Y vehicles.
Tesla’s Market Leadership & Diagnostic Advancements
Since launching its first mass-market electric sedan in 2012 with the Model S, Tesla has remained the leading EV manufacturer in the U.S. The company has surpassed 190,000 sales in a single calendar year and sold over half a million vehicles in the U.S. last year. The Model Y was the best-selling non-truck vehicle in the first quarter of this year across the U.S. and Europe.
With Tesla Update 2.0, Ultra Series tablets now support reading and erasing codes for Tesla Model 3 and Y across multiple systems, offering ECU reset and connection tests as part of the expanded special functions. To facilitate Tesla diagnostics, Autel has introduced the JX03 IAI 778 adapter. For Model 3 and Y diagnostics, the CAN-001 cable and Autel’s test kit, released earlier this year, must be connected to the vehicle’s CAN port.
Autel previously released software updates and a test kit for Tesla Model S and X vehicles in July 2021. The test kit includes the LAN-001, CAN-001, and CAN-002 adapters, enabling diagnostics for both pre- and post-2015 Tesla S and X models. Each kit includes detailed connection guides to ensure seamless integration.
